Holy Chernobyl
OK, here's me standing outside reactor number 4, ground zero of the Chernobyl meltdown. I'm holding a Geiger counter that states the radiation in the air is 0.530. In Kiev, 100km away, it is typically around 0.011. We visited one hotzone where it went as high as 2.000. A cement sarcophogus encloses the reactor, where 95% of the uranium fuel still sits.
