Court Dressing

Emon, the traditional art of Japanese court dressing, layers on 12 to 20 robes of silk (weighing 15kg) in a delicate fashion until the court lady looks stunning, or heaves over from heat and exhaustion, whatever comes first. An unusual ceremony at an AJALT Japanese teacher association meeting.
