The Tunes of Modern Gonzo
The iPod is truly what every serious traveller has been waiting for. Instead of packing 20 CD’s in a hard case that you’re going to listen to death and subsequently hate before they tragically get stolen, you can now travel with 2000 CD’s at your fingertips. Some travellers did have an iRiver, but the vast majority either had an iPod, or desperately wanted one. With a converter for car, stereo and wireless receiver, there was no place I couldn’t jack in my 60GB beast and get the mood right. Along the way, I spread good music like Johnny Appleseed, exposing people of different nationalities to new music for the benefit of artist and listener. Likewise, I also picked up a few new tunes of my own. For whatever reason, the songs below were the ones that defined my trip. There were plenty others (I have only 10,000 tracks), but the playlist below set the right mood when I needed it, and these are the songs on my iPod that I somehow managed to find something new or enjoyable, even on the 3000th play. Note; I don’t condone music piracy. I also don’t condone a corrupt music industry that exploits art for the sake of commercial greed. To the artists listed below: You now have fans in the most unlikeliest places.
