The Pearl of the Adriatic does not disappoint, and I cracked its oyster shell with some awesome Gonzo action, including sea-kayaking, ATV riding, free climbing and running, and good old fashioned warfare. Island hopping on Croatia’s Dalmation Coast is like an episode of Lifestyles and the Rich and Famous, only I felt like the production assistant cleaning Robin Leach’s soiled jockstrap. We start with virgins celebrating midsummer’s night in Krakow. Then it’s off to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava, with its charming streets and goofy public art. A long train journey passes through 3 countries to drop me off at the Roman Palace of Split, although by now I am far more interested in the turquoise waters of the Adriatic.
