Bombay - Finally some yummy Indian food! The butter chicken is particularly good. Go at lunch and get 20% off dinner. Or, when they ask you if you've been before, tell the lovely server, yes! Mikolajska 11.
Chlopskiejadlo - The menu says "voted Best Restaurant in Poland" and truthfully, there is no better borscht in the land. Traditional Polish meats, soups and dishes, served with thick butter and a cup crammed with pork fat. Agnieszki 1

Kismet Dao - Recently opened up with new mattresses and great pillows, Elliot and the guys at Kismet are super friendly, super chilled, and most accommodating. "Other hostels claim it, we actually live up to it!" And they do. I came for 3 days and stayed a week. Laundry is free, and shops are just around the corner. Lenartowicza 7, about 10mins from Old Town.
Sodispar Aparthotel - modern, clean and quiet apartments if you're looking for something private and long-term. Free internet in the rooms (you will need your own laptop) and satellite TV. Lubelska 12, a few tram stops from Old Town.

Nic Nowego - Tom says his Irish bar is the real thing, in that it looks what most bars in Dublin look like these days. Modern, big flat screen, cool tunes, friendly staff, no old wood or "fake Irish crap." Krzyza 15, Old Town.
Piekny Pies - a homely local hangout with eclectic DJ (new wave to Sinatra to goth to Billie Holiday in four songs), going late into the morning until at least someone gets up and dances on the bar. Jana 18, next door to the fake Irish Pub.
Prozak - 14, count em', 14 different rooms in one underground club. OK, so there are only really 3 dance floors, but more nooks and more crannies than should be legal. Music varies on the night. Dominikański 6
Frantic - another dungeon nightclub with a series of interlocking rooms...try find the bathroom and you'll chance upon another room full of skinny blonde girls busting a move. Something of a dress code. Club, techno, R&B. Szewska 5 in Old Town.
Piwnica pod Baranami, - arty, cool pub bar with a lot of history and character. Stowarzyszenie "Klub 40".
